A senior commander of the outlawed Islamic State (IS) was killed and three others were arrested in injured condition during a joint operation of the Counter Terrorism Department and security forces in the Jamrud tehsil of Khyber district early on Monday.
According to the Counter-Terrorism Department(CTD)statement, the operation was carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department and Security Forces in the Tehsil Jamrud Ghareeza area of District Khyber in KPK,
prompting an intense exchange of fire between the troops and terrorists.“Resultantly, one terrorist got killed and three others who were injured while fleeing the scene were apprehended.
The killed terrorist was identified as Liaquat shah.
a captain of the security forces was injured and a CTD officer was also martyred in the exchange of fire, the statement added
These terrorists were wanted for attacking government officials and law enforcement authorities.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the possession.
