Most wanted TTP commander killed in Mardan KPK

PESHAWAR: On Thursday, Counter Terrorism Department killed the most wanted terrorist of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an intense fire exchange that occurred in the Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement, the Counter Terrorism Department(CTD) Mardan Reagan said, “On 10 November 2022, a fire exchange took place between CTD and terrorists in Mardan District.”
During the intense exchange of fire, the CTD said, a terrorist was killed by the CTD forces.
The statement said the killed terrorist was identified as Ubaid alias Mehmood, who was involved in the murder of a Special Branch officer Farid Khan near his residence some days back and remained actively involved in terrorist activities in the area.
“Weapon was also recovered from the killed terrorists,” said the statement.
It added that The killed terrorist also carried head money of Rs 5 million.
On Nov 7, A senior commander of the outlawed Islamic State (IS) was killed and three others were arrested in injured condition during a joint operation of the Counter Terrorism Department and security forces in the Jamrud tehsil of Khyber district.
