LANDIKOTAL: Police on Monday claimed to have foiled a bid to smuggle heroin smuggling at the Charwagay police check post and arrested the peddler, police said.

Additional Station House Officer Fazal Rehman Afridi told FATAVOICE that after taking action on the prior tip police at Charwagay started to snap checking and stopped a vehicle (AA-4756). He said they searched the car and recovered four kilograms of heroin from its hidden cavities.

Police said the drug trafficker identified as Asmatullah, resident of Jamrud, was arrested and a case registered against him. He was sent to Landikotal sub-jail for further investigation.

District Police Officer(DPO) Imran Khan said he had issued strict directives to Jamrud, Bara and Landikotal police officials to keep a close watch on social evils. He said they were working on a zero-tolerance policy to wipe out all kinds of criminals and drug dealers from society. He said all the police stations in district Khyber had to submit their record and activities on daily basis to ensure public services.
