Tribal political worker gunned down in Peshawar

LANDIKOTAL: Unknown gunmen shot dead a tribal political worker and other was injured at University road in Peshawar on Thursday.

According to police report the assailants ridding motorcycle sprayed bullets on a car left a political worker dead and another wounded near Peshawar’s board bazaar.
The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospital where doctors pronounced the death of man identified as Qari Said Alam resident of Mirdad Khel of Landikotal who was affiliated with Alhaaj Karwaan of Khyber and spoke person of former parliamentarian, Shaji Gul Afridi. The injured person was identified as Fahad resident of Landikotal and doctors terms his condition out of danger.
Sources said that the deceased’s body handed over to the family and shifted to Landikotal while police registered an FIR against unknown assailants.
The sources said that the slain was an active worker of Afridi, who is contesting upcoming polls from NA-43.
The deceased had no personal enmity, an initial report of police revealed.
Thousands of his friends, colleagues and people from across Khyber attended his funeral prayer and buried in his ancestral graveyard (Loya Adira) in Landikotal.
Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf(PTI) leaders Dr. Noorul Haq Qadri, Ex-senator Abdul Malik Qadri and young religious scholar Adnan Qadri, PTI senior worker Zarbullah Shinwari and PTI youths leader Adnan Shinwari condemned the brutal attack on Said Alam and his colleague. They demanded of the government to prob into the killing case and strict action against the culprits as soon as possible.
They also announced suspension of their activities of elections campaig to observe three-day mourning over the brutal murder of Alam.
