LANDIKOTAL: Deputy commissioner of district Khyber Mehmood Aslam Wazir along with a hundred orphans girls and boys on Monday visited historical sites in Landikotal and Torkham border.
The orphans first arrived at Landikotal where they visited several historical sites along the Pak-Afghan highway.
Deputy Commissioner Mehmood Aslam Wazir was with the orphans residing in Darul Ehsas in Peshawar.
A colourful event was also organized at the Michni check post hilltop near the Torkham border which orphans enjoyed.
At the end of the day, the orphans drove to the officers’ mess in the Landikotal army garrison where food was presented to them.
Talking to this scribe assistant director Baitul Mall of district Khyber Rasheed Ahmad said that the aim of the orphans’s visit to the historical places was to promote tourism and provide an opportunity to orphan children who deserve to enjoy.
He thanked DC Mehmood Aslam Wazir for all the arrangements that made it possible to visit several historical sites in district Khyber.
Assistant Commissioner of Landikotal Muhammad Imran and additional Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Islam accompanied the orphans.
