LANDIKOTAL: Police in Landikotal arrested a killer and thief involved in two different cases, police said on Friday.

Police officer Ayaz Khan Shinwari told Fata Voice that early Friday morning a man identified as Habibullah Shinwari, a resident of Khugakhel Landikotal opened firing on 65-year-old Malik Jan Shinwari in Landikotal Bazaar and killed him on the spot.

The police official said they were within an hour, and the weapon used in the incident was also recovered from his possession.

The arrested person was put in jail and cases were registered against him. Police said old enmity was behind the killing of the elderly man.

Meanwhile, a head of thieves gang busted in Landikotal and put behind bars.

Investigation police officer Rahman Ali Shinwari said that an Afghan Citizen Nek Muhammad, currently residing in Landikotal along with his other accomplices had stolen 12 solar panels from a gravity tubewell scheme in Landikotal a few days ago. He said a search for the other dacoits was underway.
