PESHAWAR: A soldier lost his life while six others, including three civilians, sustained injuries in a blast caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted a security forces’ vehicle on Warsak Road in Peshawar.

According to the military’s media wing, Lance Naik Abdur Rehman, 29, lost his life in the explosion, and three soldiers and three civilians were injured.
The blast injured six FC personnel and three civilians, with two FC personnel in critical condition, according to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
Initial investigations ruled out a suicide bombing, suggesting explosives were planted along the roadside.

The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) are collecting forensic evidence.

Five kilograms of explosives were used in the IED attack, and five suspects have been arrested.

Security measures in the city have been heightened to prevent hostile elements from succeeding.
Security agencies are collaborating to fight terrorism and establish peace.
The area is being sanitized to eliminate terrorists and their facilitators, according to the ISPR.
