LANDIKOTAL: An attack on the Charwazgai check post along the Pak-Afghan Highway was repelled late Monday night after unknown militants opened fire using rockets and small weapons, police said on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the attackers targeted the check post in the dark of night, prompting security personnel to respond with swift retaliatory fire. The militants managed to flee the scene, and no loss of life was reported in the incident.
Police officials said that an investigation has been launched, while a search operation is underway in the surrounding areas to trace those involved in the attack.
On the same day, official sources said, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Maidank mountains at the Ali Masjid police station jurisdiction and
targeted a concealed hideout of the outlawed TTP. Sources said three terrorists were killed and two others were injured during the operation.
