LANDIKOTAL: All Teachers Association(ATA)Khyber chapter on Tuesday staged a protest rally in the front of Agency account office and chanted slogans against education officials.
The Khyber Agency teachers’ association president Nasir Shah Afridi, general secretary Attiqur Rehman and senior teacher Sarwar Afridi led the protest.
They were holding banners inscribed with slogans against Agency account officer Gohar and Agency Education Officer Jadoon Khan Wazir.
The protesters marched from the government higher secondary school Jamrud No-2 and gathered outside the Agency account office.
Speaking on the occasion ATA Khyber chapter president Nasir Shah Afridi said that around 28,00 male and female teachers in Khyber tribal district had been deprived of their legal rights. He alleged that Agency Education Officer(AEO)Jadoon Khan Wazir and account officer Gohar were involved in making hurdles for teachers. He said convince allowance was not paid to teachers since 2016.
He demanded the high-ups investigate AEO and the account officer’s alleged involvement on which grounds they did not release the convince allowance to the teachers in Khyber Tribal District.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarwar Afridi and Attiqur Rehman said that they had many rounds of talks with the account officer Gohar and AEO Jadoon Khan Wazir but to no avail. They said the account officer intentionally not releasing the convince allowance as the officials want a bribe to release the whole amount.
The protesters threatened to block the road in Jamrud and would stage a protest in front of the governor’s house in Peshawar if their demand was not fulfilled.
