DISTRICT KHYBER: Second coronavirus pandemic wave took its first life in district Khyber when a man in Jamrud tehsil died of coronavirus on Thursday, health officials said.
Health official Shahid Khan Afridi, who devoted his services to conducting corona tests voluntarily told this scribe that one Haji Gul Shad Afridi,40, a resident of Jamrud was corona positive for the last few weeks.
He said the ill-fated man was under treatment but could not be survived. He said it was the first death of the second wave recorded due to coronavirus in district Khyber. He said so far they have conducted around five thousand corona tests in which they diagnosed 95 person corona positive in the district. He advised the corona patients to quarantine at their homes and save lives. He said the second wave seems to very worsen more than the first one if people do not follow SPOs. He said those who had recovered from coronavirus could be again infected if they did not follow health safety steps.
Meanwhile, the assistant commissioner of Landikotal Muhammad Imran Yousufzai inspected various public spots including Nadra’s office, the district headquarters hospital and Landikotal and Torkham bazaar and asked the health staff to ensure healthy measures. He directed the police officials to strictly take action against those who do not follow SPOs.
