Police Department Is Determined to Meet Challenges: DPO

KHYBER: Salim Abbas Kalachi, the newly appointed District Police Officer (DPO) of Khyber, said on Wednesday that the police force was committed to overcoming all challenges in order to maintain law and order in the district. 

Salim Abbas was speaking to the police darbar conducted at police lines in Shakas Jamrud. He said that the Khyber police were a well-trained force that always bravely performed their duty. He told the police officers and jawans to perform their duties honestly so that they could ensure the citizens’ life and property protection.

He said besides the training and capacity building of the police force, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police department also established welfare funds for those police employees who needed financial assistance. He said every year they distribute a handsome amount among needy police personnel on a merit basis.

The DPO said several officers made life-saving sacrifices and were injured while on duty. He said the sacrifices rendered by police would not go to waste. He said they were committed to keeping the district safe for all and would not spare any criminals or outlaws.

DPO Salim Abbas Kalachi and Superintendent of Police Aslam Nawaz Khan distributed checks for Rs. 2.2 million among those police personnel and officers who were wounded in militancy-related incidents or lost their lives in militant attacks. The DPO also gave checks worth Rs 0.9 million to the families of Manzoor Shah and Younus Afridi, who were killed in a suicide attack in Takhtabaig, Jamrud.
