Man Awarded Death Sentence in Khyber

LANDIKOTAL: Additional session judge of district Khyber on Saturday awarded the death penalty to a Jamrud resident who had allegedly shot dead a man in Jamrud some four years ago.

A written verdict received by this correspondent said that one Kiramat Shah, a resident of Jamrud had shot and dead Ihsanullah in the Bakarabad area of Jamrud in 2020. It further said that after thoroughly investigating the case and recording evidence and arguments the honourable court concluded that the arrested person named Kiramat Shah was guilty and awarded a death sentence and a one million rupees fine to him. The court also mentioned that police had also recovered the weapon from the killer’s possession used in the murder.

It may be added here that it is the second death sentence awarded to Khyber district residents in a week in murder cases. A few days before the court had also awarded another man a death sentence after he was proven guilty of killing innocent citizens.
District police officer termed the death sentence the success of Khyber police who conducted a fair investigation in murder cases and provided justice to the bereaved families.
