LANDIKOTAL: Six persons including two women and four children of the family died in a roof collapse incident that took place in the Bazarzakhal locality in Landikotal on Sunday.
They said that due to heavy downpours, the roof of a room caved in which buried six persons alive. As the incident happened rainfall continued for almost fifty hours. As the incident happened rescue workers and volunteers reached the spot and retrieved dead bodies.
Four sisters of less than ten years old and two women lost their lives in the incident.
Meanwhile, several other houses and other compounds were also damaged in the rain and snowfall in Landikotal and other far-flung hilly areas where data on damages would be collected.

Staff, facilities demanded in schools: Local Government representatives have demanded that the government provide teaching staff to the school in Bazarzakhakhel and Upper Bara areas of district Khyber.
Speaking to journalists here in Landikotal village council chairman Haji Khabar Jan Afridi said that several government-run schools were missing basic facilities. He said they had requested officials’ concerns to provide teaching staff۔
He said that they have more than twenty state schools in Bazarzakhakhel but each school lacks teaching staff. Due to the poor educational facilities and teaching staff, he said hundreds of children’s future was at risk. He said since teachers were not yet posted in schools to teach science subjects. He said many teachers were not performing their duty and should be made accountable.
The local government representative appealed to the officials to take strict action against the missing teachers.
