KHYBER: Unknown armed men attacked the hujra (traditional male guest house) of tribal elder Malik Naseer Ahmad Kukikhel in Jamrud, Khyber district, late Friday, family sources said.
According to the family, the attackers first hurled a hand grenade at the main gate of the hujra and then opened fire before fleeing the scene. No casualties or injuries were reported in the attack.
The incident spread panic among residents of the area, prompting security personnel and police to rush to the scene.
Police have launched an investigation and started a search operation to trace and arrest those responsible. The motive behind the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
