LANDIKOTAL: Authorities at Pak Afghan border Torkham have seized fake US dollars, a resident of Ningahar wanted to smuggle 19000( Nineteen thousand) fake American dollars to Afghanistan. A police official in Torkham told the media on Sunday.
Mussarat Hussain Shinwari, assistant sub-inspector while sharing the details told that a resident of Ningahar was crossing via Torkham, when the personnel searched his luggage, and recovered fake American dollars.
The smuggler has been sent to Landikotal sub-jail for further investigation. Police officials said.
It is worth mentioning here that a few days before, the authorities at Torkham had also recovered 0.3 million Afghan currency from a man’s possession.
The police officials at Torkham have said that they have tightened checkups of those passengers and their luggage who were crossing via Torkham to stop the smuggling of illegal goods and narcotics.
