LANDIKOTAL: Provincial minister for local government Akbar Ayub Khan on Monday said that the government has postponed conducting the local government elections in the province due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The provincial minister who was speaking to a public gathering here in Mulagori said that peace has been restored in tribal areas. He said the government has launched a number of small, medium and mega developmental projects across the tribal districts. He said they were committed to bringing a visible change in the life of an ordinary person in erstwhile Fata.
Akbar Ayub urged residents to keep watch on all the developmental projects being done by the government. He added that he would raise a voice for the people of Mulagori at the assembly forum. He issued directives to the district education officer Khyber to ensure the resumption of secondary-level classes for girls in the coming two months.
The minister said they have delayed Local Government elections expected in the last quarter of the year. He heard the issues of Mulagori residents and pledged to address them on a priority basis.
Provincial assembly member Shafiq Sher, Bilawal Afridi DC Khyber Mehmood Aslam, district sports officer Rahid Gul director Livestock Waheedullah and TMA Jamrud Naseer Khan accompanied the minister.
