Afghan envoy calls on Pak Foreign Minister, discusses peace process

ISLAMABAD: Presidential envoy of Afghanistan and former ambassador to Pakistan Umar Daudzai on Tuesday met with Shah Mehmood Qureshi here in Islamabad to discuss the Afghan peace process.

According to reports, the meeting was held at the Foreign Office Islamabad.
Matters of mutual interest, the Afghan reconciliation process, regional and international matters and other issues were discussed during the meeting.

They discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the ongoing Afghan peace process.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi briefed the envoy about the role and efforts of Pakistan in the Afghan peace process.
Mehmood Qureshi assured the complete support of Pakistan for the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
President Ashraf Ghani’s special envoy Umer Daudzai during his stay in Pakistan till January 11, will hold meetings with Pakistan’s leadership to discuss the Afghanistan peace process.
