Soldier martyred, 15 militants killed during IBO in Zhob

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army sepoy embraced martyrdom and 15 militants, commonly referred to as Khawarij, were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Zhob, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation targeted the militants’ hideout effectively. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of 15 militants. The forces also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site.
However, it added, Sep Arif ur Rehman (age 32 years; resident of Mansehra District) embraced martyrdom after fighting gallantly during the intense exchange of fire.

Security forces are conducting a sanitization operation to neutralize any remaining militants.
The ISPR reiterated the dedication of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate terrorism, backed by the steadfast support of the nation. It highlighted that the sacrifices made by courageous soldiers have reinforced their determination to free the country from the threat of terrorism.
