KHAR: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the raped and brutal murder of a five-year-old girl in Mina Area of Bajaur’s Wahr Mamund tehsil officials confirmed on Tuesday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur, Waqas Rafique, told reporters that following the tragic incident in the Mena area, public outrage prompted immediate police action. Special investigation teams were formed, and with the cooperation of residents, the accused was identified and taken into custody within 12 hours.
The suspect, identified as 16-year-old Bilal, son of Habib-ur-Rehman, is a close relative of the victim. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
The girl was raped and subsequently killed. The accused had pornographic videos on his mobile phone. He covered the girl’s mouth with his hand, suffocated her, and then threw stones at her.
Police stated that forensic evidence had been sent for testing to aid the investigation.
