LANDIKOTAL: Member of the Provincial Assembly Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri on Friday said that Islam is a religion of peace, mercy and guidance and that scholars must play their role in spreading its true message in society.

He expressed these views while addressing the Dastar-e-Fazeelat (graduation turban-awarding) ceremony held at Jamia Haqqania, established at Darbar Aalia Qadria Pirokhel in Landikotal on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of religious scholars, hundreds of followers, seminary students and people from different walks of life.

The Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar Aalia Qadria Pirokhel and former senator, Pir Hafiz Abdul Malik Qadri, was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Adnan Qadri said that serving Islam and humanity was a mission he inherited from his forefathers. “We have received from our elders the responsibility to spread light in society, to promote knowledge and to teach Islam in its true spirit of peace, tolerance and brotherhood,” he said.
He said that Islam emphasizes love, patience and respect for humanity. “The Holy Prophet (PBUH) taught us compassion, justice and forgiveness. He said It was our duty to follow the holy prophet’s teachings and present the real image of Islam to the world,” he added. He said they were running more than two hundred seminaries across Pakistan where thousands of students get not only Islamic education, but they also learn computer and science subjects.
The MPA congratulated the graduating students and advised them to use their knowledge for the betterment of society.

“Aalim(religious scholar) is the torchbearer of the Ummah. You must guide people towards righteousness, unity and moral values. Avoid extremism and always adopt the path of wisdom and moderation,” Qadri urged.

Adnan Qadri further said that madaris(seminaries) were playing a vital role in preserving Islamic teachings and moral values. He emphasized the need for harmony among different schools of thought and called for collective efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
Pir Hafiz Abdul Malik Qadri also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of religious education in shaping a balanced and ethical society.
At the end of the ceremony, turbans were awarded to graduating students amid prayers for peace, prosperity and the progress of the country.
