First Landikotal resident gets Bar-at-Law Degree From UK

LANDIKOTAL: Liaqat Ali Shinwari, a resident of Landikotal, has become the first barrister from and one of the few from erstwhile Fata to earn a Bar-at-Law degree from the prestigious Honorable Society of Gray Inn, Holborn, London, United Kingdom.

Liaqat Ali Shinwari is from a middle-class family and his passion for education particularly in law led him to acquire his degree from one of the world’s top institutions.

In 2007, he was granted a law degree from the Law College of the University of Peshawar.
He recently received his Bar-at-Law degree during a gathering held at Gray’s Inn in London on October 9. He was honoured alongside other successful candidates at the ceremony. Shinwari is the first lawyer from Landikotal to achieve this distinction and even in Pakistan, only a select few lawyers have this honour.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Liaqat Ali Shinwari expressed a natural inclination towards education, particularly law. He credited his success to years of hard work, adding that by the grace of almighty Allah, he has been awarded one of the highest honours in the field of law.

Shinwari has been practicing at the Peshawar High Court since 2017. He has now been recognized as fit to practice before the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He said his mission was to uphold the principles of justice, and fairness and ensure the protection of people’s rights.
