First-ever Technical Institue Commences classes in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: The first-ever technical educational institute officially commenced classes in Landikotal, officials said on Friday.

A press release here issued said that the Khyber Institute of Technical Education in Landikotal was established in collaboration with the Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(North) and the Shahid Afridi Foundation.

The institute initially offered a three-month course for boys in electrician, computer operator, motorcycle and generator operation and welding for boys. While girls were also receiving training in sewing, embroidery, tailoring and Lady Health Worker(LHW).

81 students had been enrolled in the first batch who formally started classes in their respective trades.

Each batch would take classes for three months in different trades to excel and offer excellent opportunities for local youth to gain technical skills.

The prime goal of the Khyber Institute of Technical Education is to provide opportunities to the local youth to polish their technical skills and enhance their personal development.

The technical institute would enable youth to become useful and capable members of society and provide them with better employment opportunities.
