KHYBER: District Police Officer Khyber Salim Abbas Kalachi on Monday removed nine more police officers from service after they were found guilty in an official inquiry.
A notification here issued stated that DPO Khyber Salim Abbas Kalachi had suspended nine policemen after they were charged with secret relations with narcotics dealers and traffickers.
A police official told this correspondent that the dismissed police personnel were involved in narcotics dealing and providing support to drug traffickers. He said last week DPO Khyber had also dismissed six more police officials from their service who were found guilty in a departmental inquiry. The official said that allegedly the sacked police were taking handsome amounts for facilitating drug dealers and traffickers.
Those dismissed from police service were identified as Fida Muhammad, Farooq Khan, Shoaib Khan, former additional SHO Landikotal Fazal Rehman, Mahaazuddin, Shakirullah, Ishraq Khan, Fazal Karim and Asif Akbar. DPO also sent a separate letter to the DIG Counter Terrorism Department(CDT) recommending Asif Khan’s dismissal.
DPO Salim Kalachi had said that they would not tolerate police involvement in anti-social and anti-state activities. He said the sacked police were a shame for the whole police department. He said they were also investigating more similar cases and would meet the same fat if found their involvement in illegal activities.
The sacked police had also sold the seized heroin, Ice drug and hashish from the official lockup.
