ISLAMABAD: The security forces killed 6 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Kot Azam of South Waziristan District.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, a military operation was carried out in response to the “reported existence of terrorists” in the vicinity of Kot Azam.
“During the operation, a fierce firefight ensued between security forces and the terrorists, leading to the elimination of 6 terrorists,” the statement read.
The military’s media department further reported the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the neutralized terrorists. The ISPR emphasized that the militants were engaged in acts of terrorism against security forces, as well as engaging in extortion and targeted killings of innocent civilians.
