Two Soldiers Killed In District Khyber

KHYBER: Unidentified armed men martyred two soldiers of the Frontier Corps(FC) in Tirah Valley of the upper of the Khyber Tribal district on Monday, official and local sources said.

The sources said that the personnel of the bomb disposal squad were on duty to clear the roadside when militants opened gun firing on them in the Mamal Pati area in Tirah upper Bara tehsil.
Initial reports said two soldiers identified as Gul Khan and Noor Muhammad embraced martyrdom in the attack on the spot.

As the incident happened, officials said, the security forces also returned the fire but the miscreants fled from the scene.

Soon after the killings of soldiers, the security forces and police reached the place and cordoned off the area but no arrest was made so far.
It may be added that target killings, suicide bombings and attacks on the security forces and civil installations have increased in the past weeks spreading a wave of fear and anxiety among the general public in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tribal districts.
