JAMRUD: Saqibullah Afridi, a well-known banker from Jamrud, in the tribal regions, was gunned down by unknown men in the Nasir Bagh area of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The victim, a member of the Afridi tribe, belonged to the well-known Malik Wali Khan Kokikhel family in the region. He was the grandson of the late Malik Zaib Khan, son of Ehsanullah, and nephew of respected tribal elders Malik Ikramullah Jan Kuki Khel and Ziaullah.
Police reached the site soon after the attack and launched an investigation. A search operation is currently underway to trace the culprits. The motive behind the killing remains unknown at this stage.
