Students held awareness walk on aerial firing in Jamrud

LANDIKOTAL: Hundreds of students of the government degree college in Jamrud on Friday staged a protest demonstration against aerial firing at Bab-e-Khyber.

The students were holding banners and placards and chanted slogans against aerial firing to raise awareness. They marched into Jamrud bazaar and gathered at the historical Bab-e-Khyber.

Addressing the occasion, Noor Sher Afridi, youths and sports affairs officer at Jamrud college Degree college, said that aim of the demonstration was to aware the general masses about aerial firing harm. He said that no one should celebrate their parties and marriages with aerial firing as it may lead to taking someone innocent’s life.

Noor Afridi said aerial firing should be banned and the local authorities must deal with the culprits according to the law.

He said local administration, security forces and civil societies should help them to stop such actions that could be made cause of death for innocents.

It is pertinent to mention here that a kid had been killed due to aerial firing in Jamrud tehsil last week.
