TANK: A Station House Officer(SHO) and two other cops were killed while a few others sustained injuries when they were ambushed by terrorists in Tank on Saturday, sources said.
The sources said that the police party led by DSP Rural Tank Chin Shah and SHO police station Shaheed Mureed Akbar Abdul Ali Khan were on the way to recover the abducted person and arrest the kidnapper in the Masturat case.
In Malazai, a village in the suburbs of Tank, in the limits of the police station, Kari Shah Noor their vehicle was sprayed with bullets. Which was also repulsed by the police.
The firing continued for about 30 minutes as a result, SHO Akbar Abdul Ali Khan, head constable Muhammad Alam and Constable Wahab Gul of Elite Force were martyred.
While DSP Rural Chin Shah, constable Ashfaq, Wifaq Hidayat, Ikram and Riaz of the District Police Tank were injured in the attack.
As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police force, contingent including the QRF force immediately reached the site cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
The injured police were shifted to Civil Hospital in Tank for treatment.
Regional Police Officer(RPO) Dera Ismail Khan Nasir Mehmood Satti said that the police and security forces have started operations against the terrorist elements and will crush their nefarious intentions.
He said these cowardly attacks are being carried out to demoralize the police but the cowardly attacks of the terrorists cannot demoralize the police force.
He said the morale of the entire police force was high and fighting against all kinds of evils. He said soon terrorist elements would be brought to justice.
