LANDIKOTAL: Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and Balochistan Awami Party(BAP)leader Baseerat Khan Shinwari paid a surprise visit to district headquarters hospital and government girls higher secondary school in Landikotal on Monday.
Baseerat Khan Shinwari met with doctor Muhammad Khan and lady doctor Perveen Nisar. She inspected several departments including the labour room, EPI section, emergency department and outpatient departments. It was the first-ever female parliamentarian visit to the hospital where doctors and health staff warmly welcomed Baseerat Khan Shinwari. She also met with several patients and asked about the health facilities being provided in the DHQ hospital.
The health staff briefed MPA about the current situation and needs of the hospital. She was told that the hospital is facing a shortage of life-saving drugs, lacks sufficient funds and needs modern equipment to provide the best life-saving facilities in the hospital.
Baseerat Khan directed the health staff that within the available resources ensure that every patient gets proper medical treatment in the hospital. She told the staff she would meet the Tesco officials to help resolve electricity and water crises in the hospital.
The parliamentarian lauded the role of health staff and said she would soon meet with Chief Minister Mehmood Khan to arrange the missing health facilities in the hospital. She also pledged that she would raise her voice on the assembly floor for the people of Landikotal who deserve it.
Meanwhile, Baseerat also visited the govt girls’ higher secondary school in Landikotal where she met with students and staff. She urged the teachers to impart their due role to increase girls’ education ratio.
Residents and patients thanked Baseerat Khan for her visit to Landikotal Hospital and her interest in providing the best possible facilities to patients and health staff.
