Police seize narcotics in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Police on Tuesday arrested an alleged drug dealer and recovered a large quantity of narcotics during a checkpoint operation in Landikotal, police said.

Additional Station House Officer Azmat Wali Shinwari said a district-wide crackdown against drug traffickers, smugglers and their facilitators was underway under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Ahmed.
During a snap-checking operation, conducted under the supervision of SHO Landikotal Ishrat Shinwari, police stopped and searched a suspicious individual and recovered different kinds of narcotics from his position.
The suspect, identified as Iran Shah, son of Ikhtiar Shah, a resident of Khugakhel, Landikotal. Police said 550 ecstasy pills, 600 grams of heroin, and 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) were recovered from his possession.

Police arrested the suspect on the spot and shifted him to the lock-up. A case has been registered against him under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigation is underway.
SHO Ishrat Shinwari said police operations against drug dealers would continue without discrimination to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs, adding that no leniency would be shown to those involved in narcotics trafficking.
