Minister Adnan Qadri urges journalists to highlight national issues

KHYBER: Urging the tribal journalists to play their important role in restoring peace, the provincial minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Allama Muhammad Adnan Qadri, on Monday expressed deep concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officials of the District Khyber Press Club Landikotal (Registered), he underscored the critical role of journalists in shedding light on national issues and bridging the gap between the government and the public.

The simple yet dignified ceremony saw the oath being administered to the new office bearers, including President Shah Rehman Shinwari, General Secretary Shahid Shinwari, Finance Secretary Ajmir Khan and Press Secretary Rahim Afridi.

The event was attended by notable figures such as the Central President of the Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ), Qazi Fazlullah, Maulana Shoaib Qadri, Haji Muzammil and several local government representatives.

In his address, Qadri highlighted the importance of journalism in addressing the challenges facing the nation.
“The current situation of lawlessness is alarming and journalists must highlight these issues with integrity,” said Qadri as journalists’ role is crucial in awakening the authorities and ensuring the voices of the people are heard.”Adnan Qadri expressed.

He further praised the journalists of Landikotal for their unwavering dedication and professionalism.

“Journalists are the eyes and ears of society and we are proud of the journalists of Landikotal who have always performed their duties honestly and responsibly,” he added.

The ceremony concluded with President Shah Rehman Shinwari and TUJ Central President Qazi Fazlullah thanking all the guests for their participation and support. They reiterated their commitment to continuing their work with the same level of dedication and integrity, aiming to bring the region’s issues to the attention of the authorities and the public.
