Bajaur: The exodus of residents from conflict-hit areas of Bajaur shows no sign of slowing, as fears of an intensified military operation continue to grip the region.
In Mamond tehsil, ongoing military action and heightened tensions have forced large-scale displacement. According to relief volunteers, more than a thousand families have so far registered for assistance, while an equally large number have left without any formal registration, seeking refuge wherever they can.
Displaced residents recount harrowing conditions in their home areas, where shelling, curfews, and communication blackouts have made life unbearable. Many say they were left with no choice but to abandon their homes and livelihoods.
The majority of those fleeing are impoverished, with many unable to afford even the basic cost of transport to safety. Families have been seen walking for miles, carrying only what they could manage on their backs, while children and the elderly struggle to keep pace.
The displaced have appealed to all parties involved to take urgent steps toward restoring peace, pleading for an end to the suffering of ordinary citizens who find themselves trapped between forces beyond their control.
