KP is ready to give funds to the tribal districts

GHALLANI: Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to merged Mohmand district said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has assured that they will provide funds for the socio-economic development of tribal districts.

Addressing the tribal elders in Mohmand tribal district  Imran Khan said that Pakistan is welcoming the initiation of the intra-Afghan dialogue process that would help bring long-lasting peace. He said they hope that the outcome of negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban would bear fruits of peace and development for the Afghan nation.

The Prime minister said a peaceful Afghanistan was in the interest of both Pakistan and Afghanistan besides the stability of the entire region.

“Peace in Afghanistan will open new vistas of opportunities for the people of tribal districts”, said Khan. assured that he would provide all possible funds for the socio-economic development of all tribal merged districts.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave funds to the tribal belt but other provinces were facing a difficult financial situation. The provinces are not ready to give their due shares in funds to the tribal regions when they had promised to do so, Imran said.
He said the Ministry of Planning has been given directions in this regard to a draft proposal for projects.
Prime Minister Imran Khan later inaugurated Nahakki Tunnel and Sheikh Zaid Road in Mohmand district.
