PESHAWAR: Governor Ghulam Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emphasized on Monday that the government would not tolerate any delays or inefficiency in development projects, highlighting the significant destruction of infrastructure in the former FATA districts resulting from years of prolonged militancy in the Khyber region.
Governor Gulam Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa addressed a public gathering in Bara following the official inauguration ceremony of the Bara-to-Pushtakhra road.
Besides, provincial caretaker ministers including Minister for Excise and taxations Manzoor Khan Afridi, Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation Taj Muhammad Afridi, Minister for Education Irshad Qaiser, minister for Revenues Pir Haroon Shah and others were present on the occasion.
The governor said that the Bara-Peshtakhara road would cost around Rs775.00 million. He said thousands of citizens would get the benefit of it.
The governor said that joblessness had been increasing day by day in Pakistan as the government’s top priority was to provide jobs and other facilities to the tribal people at their doorstep.
The governor said the security forces and tribal people had rendered matchless sacrifices for establishing peace and tranquillity.
“We know the education sector completely destroyed in Bara tehsil during prolonged militancy,” the governor explained, adding that these schools will be reconstructed soon
He said the government’s top priority was to provide basic rights of health and education where the people had already suffered in military operations and militancy.
“It is our duty to provide quality education and perform better roles to educate the tribal children,” Ghulam Ali said. He added the tribal children have already suffered in years-long militancy.
He said the government would not tolerate laziness and ignorance in developmental projects and would not allow anyone to interfere with the uplift projects.
Towards the end of his address, the governor announced the provision of two ambulances for Dogra Hospital in Bara and Hassankhel in the Frontier Region (FR) Peshawar.
