Ice Drug, Ammunition Seized At Torkham

LANDIKOTAL: Torkham custom appraisement force foiled a bid to smuggle a cape of narcotics and ammunition to Pakistan and arrested the Afghan national, officials said on Saturday.

Customs official Mujaid Khan said on a tip-off shared by custom collector appraisement Peshawar they stopped a loaded truck(KBL3447)as it entered Pakistan from Afghanistan via the Torkham border. He said the truck was loaded with soapstone being imported from Afghanistan.
Mujahid said during the search they recovered 8.48 million rupees of Crystal Methamphetamine (Ice drug) and magazines and bullet rounds concealed under the soapstone. He said the truck worth 5 million and soapstone worth 1.1 million rupees were also impounded. He said the total worth of the seizure was 84.8 million rupees in the open market. Driver Jalal Khan was arrested and a case was registered against him.
