RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted successful intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of a terrorist commander and three other militants, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.
As per the statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security operations took place on Tuesday in the Bajaur and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Following intelligence received by the security forces regarding the existence of terrorists in the vicinity of Inayat Qilla, an operation was initiated in Bajaur.
During the operation, a significant exchange of fire occurred between the security forces and the terrorists, leading to the elimination of three militants, among them the prominent commander, Shafi.
“Weapons and ammunition have been additionally recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively concerned in terrorist actions towards safety forces in addition to the killing of harmless residents,” stated the ISPR. It added that the forces have been conducting sanitisation of the world to eradicate any terrorists discovered within the space.
Security forces carried out an operation in the Khyber district near Tirah, where a firefight ensued with terrorists.
During the encounter, one terrorist was neutralized, while three others sustained injuries. The forces also seized weapons and ammunition from the deceased terrorist.
The area is currently being sanitized to eradicate any remaining terrorists. The Pakistan security forces are resolute in their mission to eliminate terrorism, stated the ISPR.
