LANDIKOTAL: Torkham customs officials foiled a bid to smuggle different kinds of banned items to Afghanistan and arrested the alleged smugglers, officials said Saturday.
Additional collector custom Tayyab told journalists that they stopped the vehicle (GAG-3111) and recovered 7700 kilograms of DAP(Fertilizer), 6000 kilograms of sugar
from the hidden cavities of the vehicles.
He said vehicles were also taken into their custody.
He said a criminal case has also been registered against the drivers, clearing agent, and exporter. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and started an investigation.
