KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) faced a fine after one of its air hostesses arrived in Canada without a passport.

According to sources, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess Sumira managed to reach Canada without a passport.
Sumaira was assigned to duty on flight PK 781 from Islamabad to Toronto when the unprecedented incident unfolded.
Sources said, the air hostess travelled from Islamabad to Toronto relying solely on PIA General Declaration documents, circumventing the standard passport requirement.
Upon discovery of the breach, PIA has been slapped with a hefty fine for allowing flight attendants to arrive in Canada without proper documentation.
On February 29, a flight steward named Jibran Baloch was supposed to return for duty on PIA flight PK-782 in Toronto; however, he did not report for work on the flight back to Pakistan. A few days prior, a female air hostess named Maryam Raza also disappeared from the hotel. Upon searching her hotel room, authorities found her uniform along with a message that read, “Thank you, PIA.”
