LANDIKOTAL: A score of residents of Mazreena area of Landikotal tehsil Monday
threatened of polio boycott and to block Pak-Afghan highway if they were
not resumed electricity to the water pumps.
Talking to a new conference, residents of Mazreena of Landikotal, Usman
Ghani Afridi, Haji Raza, Jan Alam, Bakhtawar and Naoshaad Afridi regretted the extreme level of power cuts by the grid station. They said due to 96
hours long suspension of the power supply, all water pumps had been stopped.
Mazreena’s dwellers were facing severe water shortage because of power
outage as all water pumps operate with electricity.
They stressed that Landikotal Power station official should cut double
source connections in the area to reduce power outage and to supply power
equally to every home in Landikotal.
They also demanded from the government to provide them drops of drinking
water and threatened that they would boycott polio drops if their demands
were not fulfilled in two days.
