KHARAN, Balochistan: Security forces killed 12 terrorists during an operation in Kharan district of Balochistan after they carried out multiple attacks in the city, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to ISPR, between 15 and 20 terrorists belonging to Fitna-e-Hindustan were involved in a series of terrorist activities in Kharan City. The militants targeted the City Police Station, the National Bank, and Habib Bank, and looted cash amounting to Rs 3.4 million from the banks.

Security forces responded swiftly and forced the attackers to retreat. During a clearance operation conducted at three different locations, 12 terrorists were neutralized.

The ISPR said the terrorists had also planned to create a hostage situation at the police station; however, the attempt was effectively foiled due to timely action by security forces.

The statement added that sanitization operations are ongoing in the area and surrounding regions to eliminate any remaining threats.

Reaffirming its resolve, ISPR said that under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies will continue counter-terrorism operations with full force until foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.
