Two police injured in Bara firing

KHYBER: Unidentified gunmen opened fire in Bara Bazaar, leaving three persons, including an additional Station House Officer (SHO), injured, while a civilian also sustained bullet wounds in a firing incident near Bara Bazaar on Wednesday, sources said.

According to officials, unknown assailants opened fire near the busy Bara Bazaar area, injuring the additional SHO of Milward police station, Lal Kalam and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Bismillah Khan. A civilian passerby was also hit by gunfire during the incident.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition was reported to be stable. Soon after the incident, police and security forces reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.
Authorities said investigations were underway to determine the motive behind the attack, while security in and around Bara Bazaar was tightened following the incident.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
