PESHAWAR: Pakistan has reported two new polio cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), raising the province’s total to five cases this year and the national count to 10. The affected children are from Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts, confirmed by the National Institute of Health’s polio laboratory.

Despite ongoing vaccination efforts, challenges like restricted access in KP have left many children unvaccinated, increasing the risk of virus spread. To combat this, the government will launch the third nationwide polio vaccination campaign of 2025 on May 26, targeting children under five in 159 districts, including high-risk KP areas.

Authorities urge parents to participate to help eradicate polio and protect children’s health.
