Police seize 2,500 ecstasy pills in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Landikotal police have seized 2,500 ecstasy pills from a car and arrested the suspect on Monday, police said.

Additional SHO Azmat Wali Shinwari told this scribe that his team stopped a suspicious vehicle for inspection. Upon searching the car, police recovered 2,500 HTC (Ecstasy) pills. The suspect identified as Tanveer, son of Captain Alam, a resident of Ali Masjid Katta Kushta, was arrested on the spot.
The case has been registered, and he has been shifted to the police lock-up.

According to police, the accused was involved in supplying drugs to educational institutions, hostels and other locations. Further investigation is underway to expose the suspect’s accomplices and the broader drug network.

Police said that, under the instructions of DPO Khyber, all possible measures are being taken to protect the youth from the menace of drugs. The crackdown on drug traffickers would continue without discrimination. DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal reaffirmed his commitment against the social evils and said that they would not spare anyone involved in illegal activities.
