LANDIKOTAL: District Police Officer(DPO) Muhammad Imran suspended 107 junior police officers and stopped their salaries with immediate effects on Saturday.
A written order was issued from the district Khyber police department in which names and ranks of the 107 police department employees were mentioned. All the ghost police department employees were stationed in the Landikotal police station but they were missed from their duty for a long time.
The DPO in the written order said that he checked the daily Diary(Roznamcha) and found a number of policemen absent from their duty. Salaries of the ghost employees were frozen and they were directed to report to the district police office within seven days. It was also mentioned in the order copy that the missing police had been multiple times directed before to report but they failed to follow the directions of the high-ranking police officers.
Police sources said that more than two hundred Khyber police department employees did not perform the police department duty for long while some of them were learnt not in the country doing their jobs and businesses abroad. This correspondent wanted to take District Police Officer’s version on it but he did not respond to the phone calls and text messages.
