LANDIKOTAL: District police officer Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal issued a written notice on Tuesday to nineteen retired police personnel in Khyber who were identified as continuing to draw salaries long after their retirement.
The District Police Officer (DPO) has directed the 19 retired police officers in Khyber to repay the amounts, ranging from Rs 5.5 million to Rs 6 million per person by December 15.
In the written directives, the DPO, the retired officers, have been asked to obtain detailed records from their respective bank branches and deposit the sums before the deadline. Failure to comply would result in legal action.
Talking to this correspondent DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal also revealed that around 70 other individuals of various police ranks are under investigation for similar cases. He said some of these cases are currently under court stay orders.
“We will fulfill our duties as directed by the courts and the home department,” the DPO stated. He said that his commitment to resolving the matter is by the law.
The notices issued were identified as Saleem Khan, Shad Khan, Fazal Dad, Muhammad Alam, Sabeel, Abdul Hakeem, Jehangir, Mir Rehman, Khushdil Khan, Izzat Shah, Aqal Ghamin, Azam Gul, Khalid, Fazal Rehman, Muhammad Ilays, Kabir Khan, Gul Samad, Perviz Khan, and Asghar Khan.
