LANDIKOTAL: Students at Government Primary School No. 2, located along the main road near Zakaria Mosque in Landikotal, are facing scarcity of various necessities, including drinking water, classroom furniture and safety concerns over a low-hanging 132kV electricity transmission line passing over the school premises.

The absence of water has forced students to fetch water from their homes, while a Class IV employee has also been compelled to transport water from a nearby area using a handcart to meet the school’s needs.

Students have expressed concern over the lack of basic facilities and the potential danger posed by the high-voltage transmission line, warning that it could lead to a serious accident if the issue is not addressed promptly.

Students said the shortage of furniture had further compounded their difficulties, making it challenging to continue their educational activities in a suitable environment.

The students have appealed to Khyber District Education Department officials, the district administration and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure the provision of clean drinking water, classroom furniture and appropriate safety measures regarding the electricity line.

They urged the authorities to take practical steps to resolve the longstanding problems so that students can continue their education in a safe and conducive learning environment.
