PESHAWAR: The Son of a senior journalist, poet and writer was killed in Phandu area, while another person was killed and three wounded in Michni Gate in another incident, police said on Monday.
A police official said Ali Farooq, son of journalist and poet Farooq Firaq, was shot dead by unidentified people in the limits of Phandu Police Station on Sunday. Police said they were collecting evidence from the scene. The journalist community condemned the incident and demanded the early arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, one person, Farhan, was killed and three were wounded when they were collecting donations for flood victims on Warsak Road near Pir Bala. Senior police officers rushed to the spot and started the investigation.
