KHYBER: A soldier was martyred and 13 others sustained injuries when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into the main entrance of the 26 FF headquarters in the Maidan area of Tirah valley on Friday, sources said.
The sources said a car hit the main gate of 26-FF headquarters in Maidan, which went off with a big bang, followed by thick dust and flames.
As a result, Havaldar Arshad was killed on the spot while thirteen other security forces personnel, including Lance Naik Hayat, Sepoy Owais, Sepoy Abid, Sepoy Noman, Havaldar Shabbir, Havaldar Shadullah, Sepoy Lance Naik Asim, Sepoy Sajid, Sepoy Rias, Naik Amjad, Sepoy Nazir, Sepoy Saqib, were injured. They were shifted to a nearby hospital and state their conditions are stable.
Security forces launched search and clearance operations in the locality.
Meanwhile, the banned organization Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Islam have claimed responsibility for the attack, sources said.
The banned organizations said Qari Umar Afridi of the “fidayeen group has carried out the attack.
