LANDIKOTAL: The Peshawar-Torkham highway on Thursday remained closed for all sorts of traffic as the protest against NLC by Khuga Khel tribesmen in Landikotal.
The Khyber political alliance leaders Mufti Muhammad Ijaz Shinwari, Murad Hussain Afridi, Haji Muqtadir shah Afridi also showed solidarity with the Khuga Khel tribesmen and sat with them at the sit-in spot.
The leaders demanded the high authorities resolve the land disputes between NLC and Khuga Khel tribesmen.
Khuga Khel leaders and other tribesmen said that their sit-in would be continued until the NLC admit their right of ancestral land in Torkham and give privileges as per the written agreement.
According to police sources, some officials of NLC from Islamabad have reached Peshawar and some police officials were trying to mediate and organize a table talk session between the two parties.
