PTM Khyber demands release of missing persons

LANDIKOTAL: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement(PTM) on Sunday held a protest rally in Landikotal Bazaar to mark the International Day of the Disappeared and demanded the release of those in custody with the government.

A large number of human rights activists and PTM workers gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal Bazaar to demand the recovery of missing persons.

PTM Khyber district office bearers including coordinator Aftab Shinwari Pashteen, Gul Bahadur Afridi and Israr Shinwari, along with HRCP representatives Shakur Afridi, Masood Shah, Manzoor Afridi and Gul Rais Afridi, participated in the rally.

The participants were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans to release of missing persons. They demanded the immediate release of all missing persons from across the country and the former tribal areas. They said the families of missing persons had been suffering severe mental distress and uncertainty for years.
They marched in Landikotal bazaar and chanted slogans.
Speakers vowed to continue raising their voice for the recovery and release of missing persons at every available forum and to strongly advocate for their fundamental rights.
